The Circle Foundation is a non-profit, independent, non-partisan think-tank based in London dedicated to innovative studies on national, regional, and international issues with a particular focus on the UK-Turkey relations.

The Circle Foundation aims to act as a platform for discussions on all issues of importance to the UK-Turkey relationship and policy areas that shape Turkey’s foreign and security policy.  

The Circle Foundation contributes to the policy-making process by conducting research, preparing publications, hosting events, debates and conferences.

The Circle Foundation focuses mainly (but not limited to) on the following research areas:

  • Global Foreign and Security Challenges
  • Energy and Climate Change Policies

In addition, the Circle Foundation creates projects that strengthen the social and political activities of the Turkish community in the UK.

 

The Foundation supports the Turkish speaking community in the UK for their engagement and participation in the policymaking process through close partnership with the government institutions as well as political and civil society organisations.

The Circle Foundation also contributes to the social and political development of the Turkish community in the UK by bringing together politicians, business people, academics, researchers, journalists, experts and other stakeholders from diverse social and cultural backgrounds on a common platform.

Governance:

Circle Foundation is a non-profit charitable organisation under the UK law. It is governed by its statutes. Our board is composed of independent personalities with broad research and policy experience, representing their individual views only. The board provides the strategic direction of the organisation and supervises its independence, the work of the management team and the financial performance of the organisation. The organisation has no organic link with any political party, ideological movement, or non-governmental organisation.

Financing:

The Circle Foundation’s funding comes from a wide range of philanthropic support, research-related consultancy services, fund raising events, membership fees and donations.
